Phasmatodea
Phasmids carry the strongest commitment to camouflage in the insect world. Their long, slender bodies mimic twigs, while leaf insects in the family Phylliidae closely resemble leaves down to vein patterns and feeding damage. All species feed on plants, and many drop, freeze, or sway gently to imitate moving foliage when disturbed. Most reproduce sexually, but several species reproduce parthenogenetically, with unfertilized females producing only daughters generation after generation.
